A teenage boy has died after he fell from an e-bike in Sydney's south.
Emergency services arrived at Broe Avenue in Arncliffe, near the city's Airport, at 2.45pm on Thursday.
NSW Police confirmed medical workers found the boy, 14, with serious injuries upon arrival after he fell off his e-bike.
He was rushed to Sydney Children’s Hospital in a critical condition after being treated at the scene but doctors were unable to revive him and the boy died in the evening.
One witness who watched the accident happen said the boy had lost control of his bike before falling forward over its handlebars.
'He was riding his e-bike and going around 80 kilometres per hour while putting his wheel up before he lost control and fell forward,' the witness said.
'There were a lot of people crying and it was just heartbreaking.'
Another boy who was following behind on a pushbike said he got a call from his friend that someone had been severely hurt.
'My mate told me something had happened so I rocked up and there were all these cop cars and ambulances,' the second witness said.
'We were just having a fun time and sadly something happened.'
Both witnesses said they saw paramedics desperately trying to revive their friend whose family was seen nearby crying.
The 14-year-old boy has yet to be formally identified.
Police have since established a crime scene in Arncliffe and commenced an investigation into the cause of the incident .
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
