Lilo & Stitch actor David Hekili Kenui Bell dies aged 57 just weeks after film's premiere

Condolences and tributes have started to flood in on social media after the announcement of Lilo & Stitch actor David Hekili Kenui Bell's death.

David Hekili Kenui Bell recently appeared in the live action remake of Lilo & Stitch and his death was recently confirmed by a family member.

Bell, who had also appeared in shows like Magnum P.I. and Hawaii Five-0, was confirmed to have died on Sunday (15 June) by his elder sister, who reflected on their relationship in a heartwarming post.

The actor played a small role in the Disney flick, but fans of the Lilo & Stitch show and original movie will recognize him as the man who often has his shaved ice/ice cream knocked over in humorous ways. This running gag returned for the live action 2025 remake.

Bell’s sister described him as being ‘sweet, generous, talented, funny, brilliant and handsome’ and spoke about a recent memory where only two weeks ago, he treated the family to the opening of the film in Kapolei.
